Once upon a time, I had a mom. A wonderful mom who took care of my brother and I at all costs. We never had to worry about going hungry or to school naked. Then one day we found out she had a brain tumor and turned our world upside down. After 22 months of chemo, radiation, losing function of her right side, speaking but not making sense, and overall heartache, she left us for good. That was 7 years ago and every time Mother’s Day rolls around again, I find myself getting depressed. How am I supposed to celebrate a day that honors someone I can no longer enjoy it with? I got my answer 2 years ago.
As moms, we are always trying to figure out how to get 72 hours worth of things done in 24 hours. Getting the kids to school, going to work, making dinner, entertain the kids, the list goes on and on. I decided to go looking for some help on time management tips to help us busy moms keep on top of everything. I plan on testing some of these out to see which system works the best for us!
One of the most common baby shower gifts are disposable diapers. They are considered the go-to now, whereas fifty years ago, cloth diapers were the norm. The use of cloth diapers has fallen out of fashion with the masses because disposable diapers make it easier to collect the love your baby has produced for you and throw it in the trash, never to be smelled or heard from again. What if I said that you are doing yourself a disservice by using something you consider more convenient? If I can show you how cloth diapers can save you more money and reduce the amount of waste in our landfills, you might consider at least trying them out, yes? Okay, great.
We have four cats, a dog, and a toddler running around this house. Three of the cats are male and have all experienced urinary tract infections which has forced us to put them on a prescription diet that is quite expensive. Therefore, we are trying to reduce their stronghold on our cash flow by feeding the lone female, Artemis, something other than the fancy schmancy food. After trying a few other brands, we have come to realize that she really loves Purina Pro Plan Shredded Blend the most.
Have you seen those moving walkways that are at the airport? It’s like this really long conveyor belt for people to get to their gates a littler faster. There are railings on either side, so there’s no option of getting off until the end.
Now, let’s imagine we are on one and reach a fork in the “road.” Only, there’s an infinite amount of forks. And you feel like you need to take all of the forks to reach your destination. You might stand there for a very long time trying to determine which one to take first, right?
This is how I currently feel about my life.
I want to travel all the conveyor belts. All at once. In turn, I travel none of them.
There is this mental paralysis I feel because I want to excel at everything. I attempt to learn all the things. Which creates this burning smell that emits from my ears. I’m spinning my wheels. This is not conducive to finding your balance.
